Showstoppers; the Cab Calloway production that they put on every year, has been seperated by middle and high school; as you probably know. Eventhough it's now over, I still think it was a terrible idea to do that. Showstoppers is about bringing everyone together, all grades, all students. It just wasn't the same thing year. And just because i've only been here for 6th and 7th grade, my older sister still goes here. And i've been going to Showstoppers for a very long time to see my sister perform. Mini The Moocher, (The last act) just wasn't the same thing this year.
Cab Calloway has put on many really good plays, and all the performances including band and everything, are usually always good. And the thing everyone looked forward to was; Showstoppers. Everyone came together as one school, and shared everyone's talents together. Now they seperated that, and you couldn't see the whole production in school. So some people didn't get to see both productions, and I know some people really wanted to see both. Some including me. I only got to see the middle school performace, which i'm still kind of mad about.
There was much confusion, and not many people liked the idea.

Uniforms.
School uniforms; are they really a good idea? I personally don't think they are. Some people think that it's way easier having them, and it makes the mornings go by smoother. Some people think that having them are pointless. There is a lot of debate with them, and I personally think that schools shouldn't make students wear them.
Having school uniforms don't allow the students to free their mind, and wear what they want. Which I think is unfair. If everyone wears the same thing, everyday, they won't have freedom of expression. Which I think is a very nice thing to have, if you know what I mean. Who would want to not have that? And even without uniforms, there still have a dress code. For all the people that want to become dancers, actors, and movie stars; with a uniform, they have no form of creativity. Uniforms automatically take that away, AND they can no longer express themselves freely, and the way they want.
Another thing, if the school makes students wear a uniform and a natural disaster happened, like a earthquake, or any other thing, how would that child's parents find them? The parents can recognize them by the clothing they wear, and how they dress. Without that, it's going to be really hard to find them when everyone is wearing the same exact thing. It would be a complete nightmare. Even though the parent would obviously know how the child looks; it still would help if they knew what the child was wearing that day. Or how they dress on a regular basis. Or if in school, the child gets bullied by an older person. And they don't know their name. Since everyone has to wear the school uniform, there is no way of identifying the person. Other than hair color, eye color, etc. It would be really, a lot easier if the child could say what the other was wearing too. It would make things move faster, and help the child.
I don't think school uniforms are a good thing to have at all. You cannot express yourself, and if something dangerous happened; it's going to be hard to find all the right people. And some parents think that it would make their children move faster in the morning, if they had to wear the same thing instead of taking a long time to pick out what they want to wear for the day. But the thing is, there is a few ways to get around it. You can tell your child to pick out their clothes the night before. Or some children can pick out what they want to wear in a little matter of time. People also thinks it takes away from the child focusing in school, because they are too worried about what another person is wearing. But really, it isn't what the child is wearing that is distracting them. It is a good chance it's the child just not paying attention. I think that is very stupid, because usually; nobody is really that obsessed with how they look to not focus in school. At least, that's what I think. I don't like the idea of school uniforms at all.
